Tempranillo/Syrah (16L)

The Denominación de Origen (Appellation of Origin) of Utiel-Requena is situated 70 km (44 miles) from the Mediterranean Sea, in Spain’s province of Valencia. Winemaking in the Utiel-Requena region dates back to the Roman times, more than 2,000 years ago. The Romans chose to plant their vineyards in this higher altitude region, where the elevation ranges 600m (2,000 ft) to nearly 900m (3,000 ft) above sea level. The cooler temperatures at these higher elevations produce wines marked not only by ripeness but complexity and finesse. Ruby red in colour, our Tempranillo and Syrah blend boasts a ripe berry and cassis nose with a hint of crushed black pepper and woody aromas. Full-bodied and complex; the black cherry fruit is well integrated with velvety tannins and vanilla oak flavour. This wine can be consumed early but will round out nicely with bottle aging that will result in an impressive amalgamation of flavours.

Serving Suggestions: The perfect partner with braised red meats and marries well with flavourful pasta dishes and strong cheeses.
